Anzac Landings Recount

Ride To Death!

It’s 2 am, on the 25th of April 1915.

There I was. I was shaking like I was getting shocked. The landing boat was like a ride to death!. I was getting ready to leave the boat.  I felt a big drop of sweat rolling down my neck.

I could smell all the fear coming from the landing boats. Someone on the other landing boat had accidently shot a bullet off. “We’re exposed,” screamed the Commander.  I thought we were about to die. It was like blood bath.

We were about to leave the landing boat.  All of the soldiers dived quickly out of the landing boats. Our boat was out of the Turkish guns range.  I was gripping my gun like it was the only thing keeping me alive. I heard a boom from the battleships. I ducked for cover. I got up to check what had happened.  A soldier died right  in front of me. I stood up and took his ammo.

Then I felt a torturing pain in my leg. I was shot.  I felt like I was about to die……..

I am learning to write an interesting recount.
I am so proud of using descriptive and vivid words in my recount.
It can be tricky to the right adjectives for the right sentence.
The thesaurus can help me by giving me better words.
The next step for me in my learning is to write an even better recount.
